New Look For Merton Chamber Of Commerce

Logo unveiled at organisation's AGM

Merton Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a new look on the night it celebrated a year of achievements.

It unveiled a new logo (below) at its AGM which took place on Thursday July 14 with representatives from 70 local businesses attending.

Chief Executive Diana Sterck (pictured right with Chairman Andrew Wakefield), said it had been an amazing year for the Chamber with the introduction of many initiatives.

New activities included the running of The Generator Business Centre in Mitcham, with 18 office suites and five light industrial units.

They have also worked with 1,500 businesses through the Merton Means Business service, both being run on behalf of Merton Borough Council.

The Chamber's finance advisers had helped raise more than £250,000 for four local businesses and the team of 'greening advisers' helped more than 300 businesses save an average of £2,000 per year by adopting green practices.

Their work in Wimbledon town centre included organising continental markets, promotions on The Piazza, the Winter Wonderland event and development of the Business Improvement District for the town, now known as "Love Wimbledon".

Ms Sterck concluded her presentation at Cannizaro House with the unveiling of the new logo. She said: "Our new logo represents our ambition to be a modern and approachable business, and one that is in business to support and connect business, particularly recognising the growth in digital and social media".
