Map Your Way Around Merton

Discover the services on your doorstep

A new online tool which pulls together local information into maps to help Merton residents get more information about their borough has been created by Merton Council.

Merton Mapping comprises two key online services: 'My Neighbourhood' provides information on local services, while the 'interactive map' offers a snapshot of schools in the area.

Using the 'My Neighbourhood' tool residents can find a range of information where they live, including bin collection days and the location of the nearest libraries, children's centres, parks, schools, NHS GP surgeries, and council-owned car parks. It also provides information on local polling stations, wards, councillors and conservation areas.

The searchable 'interactive map' provides a view of local primary, secondary, independent and special schools, and sixth forms. Local people can find out which schools are nearest to them and then click through for more information.

Merton council says it will look to add more features to these maps later on in the year.

Merton Council's cabinet member for performance and implementation, Councillor Mark Betteridge, said: "Merton Mapping is a new and exciting tool which, for the first time in our borough, brings together a range of local information at a few clicks of the mouse. This online tool is a handy way to help local people and visitors get the most out of Merton.

"Merton Mapping is useful for local residents and will really help those who have just moved into Merton and need to familiarise themselves with our borough. We’re always looking at ways to improve our services and welcome comments and suggestions on how we could make them even more useful."
