Do You Recognise These Men After Wimbledon Attack?

Victim had his nose broken at Wimbledon Station

Do you recognise these men who were involved in an assault, breaking the nose of a Good Samaritan, at Wimbledon Station last month?

British Transport Police are keen to speak to the two men in this image (right), after a 49-year-old man was assaulted on platform eight at Wimbledon on Saturday October 3.

Detective Constable Michael Stephenson said: "The victim was sitting on a bench next to a man and woman who were arguing. The argument became increasingly heated, and the victim intervened when he heard the man threaten the woman."

At this point the victim was attacked by the man, with another man joining in the assault. He was punched in the face and knocked to the ground where he was kicked by both men.

CCTV images from the station have been circulated on police intelligence networks. The attack happened just before 10pm.

DC Stephenson said: "The victim's nose was broken, and he sustained cuts and bruises in an assault which would have shocked and frightened anyone who witnessed it.

"Violence of this kind is rare on the rail network. When it happens, it is vital that we find those responsible. I think the men in the image we are issuing today have information about this incident. Who are they?"

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference SSUB/B3 of 30/11/15. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
