Man Arrested After Police Officer Hit By Car

Officer thrown from bonnet in Waitrose car park in Wimbledon

An arrest has been made by police investigating an incident in which a Wimbledon police officer was injured after being hit by a car in Waitrose car park.

Video footage released at the time showed the officer being carried at speed on the bonnet before being thrown to the ground near Alexandra Road. Another officer tried to hold onto the side of the car when the driver refused to stop and drove off out of the car park.

Merton Police say the officer was not seriously injured and is now on the mend.

A man has been arrested after a foot chase in the Walthamstow area.

They released a photo of Sean Clarke-Arrindell (right) who they were trying to arrest when the incident took place. The police have not confirmed that the man arrested is Clarke-Arrindell.
