Police Officer Charged With Resisting Arrest In Wimbledon


Faces five offences, including being drunk and disorderly

A Met police officer faces assault charges after allegedly trying to stop fellow officers from arresting him in Wimbledon Village.

Mark Toulson, aged 33, a serving police officer from Wandsworth, was arrested in Wimbledon High Street on Thursday (November 27).

He has been charged with being drunk and disorderly, using threatening behaviour, two counts of resisting arrest and obstructing the police.

Toulson, who was not on duty at the the time, will appear before Wimbledon magistrates on December 12.

A Met statement added: "The status of the officer will be reviewed in due course. Officers from Merton are investigating the matter and the Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed."
