Police Appeal For Witnesses After Fatal Motorbike Crash


Accident took place near the A3 slipway close to Raynes Park

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a motorcyclist in a accident near the A3 slipway close to Raynes Park.

Police were called shortly before 6.30pm on Friday (September 30) to reports of a collision between a lorry and a motorbike in Robin Hood Way outside the Esso petrol station.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and the motorcyclist - a man aged 35, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Police said that formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen the events leading up to the collision or the incident itself, which occurred on a slip road that runs parallel to the northbound A3 near to Raynes Park.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting detectives with their enquires. He has not been arrested.
