Silver Award For Wimbledon Fencer

South East men's and women's championships

The south east men's and women's épée championships were held at the Kent and Canterbury University on Sunday (January 11).

In the men's event there were two fencers from Wimbledon Fencing Club. Mark Richardson who finished in 14th place and Tim Buzwell (pictured right) who won silver after losing to Ralph Johnson from Tenterden in the final.

This was a very good competition with a high standard of fencing in both events and good representation from all over the region.

If you fancy learning the Olympic sport of fencing, there are still places available on the beginners' foil course starting in Wimbledon in February.
