Council Leader Will Be Pulling Pints To Mark Small Business Saturday


Stephen Alambritis could be serving you at a business in Wimbledon

Merton Council’s leader, Councillor Stephen Alambritis, will be frying fish, making sandwiches and pulling pints of beer to celebrate Merton’s many small businesses this Small Business Saturday (December 3).

For the fourth year in a row, he will visit a variety of small businesses in and around Wimbledon, as well as further afield in Merton, to showcase them and encourage people to support their local traders on Small Business Saturday.

Councillor Alambritis (left) said: “It is very important to support local businesses and we pride ourselves on doing so. We are a business-friendly borough and want to continue to make Merton a great place to live, work and do business. I am looking forward to serving the public on Small Business Saturday and showcasing some of our fantastic local businesses.”

Merton Council also is providing free parking every weekend up until Christmas Day to encourage people to support their local businesses. Free parking is available all council-managed car parks on the following weekends: November 26, 27, December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
