Major August Disruption For Wimbledon Train Commuters

South West Trains to cut services for Waterloo improvement works

South West Trains has issued advanced warning there will be major disruption to Wimbledon services throughout August as a result of works currently underway at Waterloo.

For three weeks in August the number of trains coming through Wimbledon will drop from 18 to 8 an hour. Services across ten weekends will also be affected.

The upgrade work to Waterloo station, from August 5-28, includes extending the platforms to accept longer trains.

This work has already been carried out at Wimbledon. Earlsfield station will be closed for part of this time and other stations such as Surbiton will also be affected.

Following this work, Wimbledon will benefit from longer trains and an improved timetable from December 2017.

Please check in your newsletter for planned tube, train and tram weekend closures.
