South Wimbledon Bus Stop Is Demolished In Accident

Accident scene is shocking sight for rush hour commuters

A South Wimbledon bus stop was totally demolished when a Ford Fiesta drove into it on Thursday morning (November 1).

Rush hour drivers and pedestrians had a shock when they saw the wreckage outside the former Merton Club on Kingston Road.

The collision took place near the pedestrian crossing and close to Wimbledon fire station.

The driver's air bag had inflated, and the car appeared to have ploughed through the request bus stop, coming to a halt just in front of a waste bin.
