A restaurant promising to offer a unique culinary experience combining Japanese and Danish cuisine is to open its first UK restaurant in Wimbledon.

Sticks'n'Sushi will offer traditional sushi combined with yakitori sticks from the grill.

The concept was set up in Demark in 1994 by Thor Anderson and brothers Kim and Jens Rahbek.

They took inspiration from their half-Danish and half-Japanese background to combine the two culinary traditions.

They now have nine restaurants in Copenhagen, where they employ 450 people.

They are now recruiting staff for their Wimbledon restaurant, which will open on Wimbledon Hill Road in March.
