Tea Party For Wimbledon Charity

Local charity marks its 40th birthday

A Wimbledon-based charity will be celebrating its 40th anniversary and saying thank you to the local community by hosting a fun and friendly tea party and BBQ.

The charity is inviting everyone from the local area to join them on Saturday July 20 at 18 Crescent Road, Wimbledon, from 12pm till 6pm.

Local service manager, Laura Dolby, will be cooking up a storm with her army of helpers who will be baking a whole host of tasty treats. The tea party will include cakes, a BBQ stand, snacks and hot and cold drinks.

There will also be a number of games and entertainment for all the family including a magic show from 3pm till 4pm, plate spinning, cake decorating and much more.

United Response is a national charity which supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities across England and Wales. Working with more than 2,000 people across the country, the charity is a leading care provider and pioneer for disability equality and inclusion.

The tea party is part of United Response's 40th anniversary celebrations which will see similar events being held across the country - dubbed as "4tea parties". The charity is celebrating its many milestones and achievements over the last 40 years and is taking the opportunity to say a big thank you to all those who have supported it over the many years and helped it continue its vital work.

Laura added: "This is a great opportunity for all the family to enjoy a fun-packed day. Although we are celebrating 40 years of our work, we also want to use this opportunity to raise further awareness of our work and maybe raise some funds at the same time. So bring your friends and family and help us toast our anniversary with a cup of tea and a cake!"

The party will take place at 18 Crescent Road, Wimbledon SW20 8EU. For further information about the party, please contact Laura or Theresa on 020 8946 7439.
