Tea Time Fun At Wimbledon's Polka

Food gets messy during this show

Meal times get messy this October half-term with the wonderfully silly show Tea Time for ages 4 – 7 at Polka Theatre from October 30 – November 2.

Inspired by the games that all families play around the dinner table this scrumptious celebration of meal times is a lively mix of words, song, music and dance. The table is set for anyone who likes to have fun with food, who has ever made an island out of mash with a sea of gravy or pretended a spoon of yoghurt was a steam.

Tea Time is part of the first ever UK-wide Family Arts Festival taking place from October 18 to November 3 which includes an array of theatre, dance, music and visual arts events.

Tea Time is produced by the acclaimed Oxford Playhouse and has been created by director Toby Hulse. Toby Hulse is a director, playwright and theatre maker who specialises in work for family audiences, also having successfully adapted The Wind in the Willows for the Polka stage in 2012.

Stephen Midlane, Executive Director of Polka Theatre said: "We're really excited to be welcoming this production from Oxford Playhouse. The Playhouse has always had a great reputation for producing work of the highest quality for children and "Tea Time" is particularly imaginative, fun and accessible for younger audiences."

Tea Time for ages 4 – 7 is at Polka Theatre from Wednesday 30 October – Saturday 2 November. Children under the age of four are welcome to the Watch with Baby performance on Thursday 31 October at 11am. Tickets are £12 (£8 concessions), to book please call the Box Office on 020 8543 4888 or visit www.polkatheatre.com.
