Future Of 'The Traf' Is In Doubt

Landlord has reluctantly decided to leave

The future of the award-winning Trafalgar pub in High Path, South Wimbledon, is in doubt after the landlord announced his intention to leave.

The pub is renowned among real ale drinkers, and was CAMRA London pub of the year in 2008 as well as CAMRA's SW London branch pub of the year in 2011, 2009 and 2007.

But the pub's Facebook page has been updated to say the landlord who took over in 2004, when it was at serious risk of closure, has reluctantly decided to leave.

His last day will be Sunday May 4. Before then, there will be music nights as follows: Friday April 25 (Steve Whalley) and Saturday May 3 (Jack Valentine), as well as live Jazz on Friday April 25 (1pm-3pm) and on Sunday April 20th, 27th and May 4th from 3-6pm.

The future of the freehold pub, which dates back to the 1860s, is currently uncertain.
