Police are appealing for witnesses after a man indecently exposed himself to a woman on a train travelling from Wimbledon to Waterloo.

Officers also believe the same man carried out a similar offence on a Shepperton to Waterloo train. They have released images (right) of the man they want to talk to.

PC Mark Payne, from the Crime Action Team of British Transport Police, said: "In the first incident, which happened at 6.10am on Sunday August 7, a 32-year-old woman from Morden noticed a man staring at her from across the carriage.

"The victim tried not to make eye contact with the man, but when she looked down she could see that he had exposed himself and was performing a sexual act.

"She alerted police when she left the train at Waterloo station."

PC Payne continued: "In the second incident, which happened around 11.17pm on Wednesday September 28, a 29-year-old woman from Lambeth was travelling on board the 23.11 Shepperton to London Waterloo service when she noticed a man was sitting across the aisle to her was performing a sexual act.

"Thankfully, offences like this are rare on the rail network but they are completely unacceptable and we treat them very seriously.

"This was an intimidating experience for both victims and we are determined to do all we can to catch the person responsible.

"Do you recognise the man pictured? Are you the man himself? If you have any information that could assist our investigation, we would like to hear from you."
