Hollywood's Verne Troyer Comes To Wimbledon

Marcus Brigstocke joins him in Peter Pan

Hollywood film star and TV personality Verne Troyer and British comedian Marcus Brigstocke will both be making their pantomime debuts in this year's Wimbledon panto - Peter Pan.

It will also see comedian Jarred Christmas return to New Wimbledon Theatre in the role of Smee as well as dance troupe Flawless as The Pirate Crew.

Verne Troyer is most renowned for his role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film series. Since then he has become a regular on British TV screens with appearances on Celebrity Big Brother, The Jonathan Ross Show and Celebrity Juice.

Previous film credits include Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, The Love Guru, and Keith Lemon: The Film. He can currently be seen in the BAFTA Cymru winning indie comedy, Convenience. Verne will be taking on the role of Lofty the Pirate in this production and, standing at a mere 2ft 8 inches, Verne qualifies for the shortest actor ever to appear in British pantomime.

Verne said: "I am so excited to be joining the world of British pantomime. The people of the UK always make me feel so welcome and what better way to spend Christmas than performing in a live show at a beautiful theatre in London.

"It's a special time of year and I’ve heard such wonderful things about pantomime that I can’t wait to give it a go. I may be an American but I can guarantee a big performance!"

Playing the role of Captain Hook is Marcus Brigstocke, whose theatre credits include Spamalot and The Railway Children. Marcus also has a host of television credits to his name including Have I Got News For You, QI and Mock The Week. Marcus is currently broadcasting series three of the award winning Brig Society.

Verne and Marcus are joined by Flawless who will be making a welcome return to the Wimbledon panto after their critically acclaimed performance in Aladdin. Flawless continue to turn street dance on its head; not just with their upside down spectacular spinning but also their exceptional technical abilities and razor sharp sense of style. They will be bringing their own unique flavour to the pantomime as the Pirate Crew.

Award winning funny man Jarred Christmas returns to the Wimbledon stage after his performance in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. This time he will be providing the laughs and chuckles as Captain Hook’s hapless side-kick, Smee.

Jarred has regularly appeared on TV shows Mock the Week, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, 8 out of 10 Cats, Russell Howard’s Good News and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief. He is also an accomplished actor, working with Warwick Davis both on stage and in the web series, Dwarves Assemble. Other TV credits include Hollyoaks Later, Jonathan Creek, New Tricks and Up the Women. Recently, Jarred hosted BBC NI’s series Monumental.

Peter Pan promises to be a swashbuckling pantomime adventure for the whole family. Produced once again by First Family Entertainment, the leading pantomime producers in the UK, Peter Pan has everything you would expect from a Wimbledon pantomime - spectacle, surprise, magic and music, plus a big sprinkling of fairy-dust!

It runs at New Wimbledon Theatre from Saturday December 5 to Sunday January 10.
