Could You Volunteer For Marie Curie In Wimbledon?

Help fundraise for care charity

The charity, Marie Curie is looking for a volunteer in the Wimbledon area to look after collection tins and Daffodil boxes, placed in local shops and businesses.

The new coordinator will visit shops and businesses in their local area every six – 12 weeks to replace collection tins, check they are correctly labelled, sealed and secured. The contents will then need to be counted and banked by the volunteer.

In February, they will place boxes of daffodil pins in shops to raise funds for the charity’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal which runs throughout the month of March. Again these boxes will need to be collected, counted and banked at the beginning of April.

All money raised will help Marie Curie provide expert care, guidance and support, so people with a terminal illness and their families in the local area, can get the most from the time they have left.

This is a flexible role, which involves some paperwork but can fit around your usual activities.  Full training will be given and volunteer registration is required, together with references.

Marie Curie Nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across London, providing hands-on support. Marie Curie also supports people throughout their illness, by giving practical information, and being there when someone wants to talk. The charity is also the leader in research into better ways of caring for people with terminal illness. Every £20 raised provides an hour of vital nursing care.
