Remember To Vote In Borough Council Elections


Merton Borough Council election takes place on May 3

Don’t forget to vote in the upcoming elections for Merton Borough council on Thursday May 3.

Voting takes in each of the 20 wards for seats on the Labour-held council, with three Councillors to be elected in every ward.

There are also elections in every borough across the capital, as well as more than 100 councils across England and six Mayoral elections.

Wimbledon polling stationBefore the election, Merton council had 36 Labour Councillors, with 20 Conservatives, 1 Liberal Democrat and 3 Merton Park Ward Independents.

The polling stations open at 7am, and you can cast your votes until 10pm.

Merton Council logoMerton's votes will be counted overnight, as with the majority of London councils. It is anticipated that Merton's result will be declared around 8am on Friday May 4.
