Help Keep The Wandle Clean

Plea for volunteers to organise events

The Wandle Trust, which is dedicated to restoring and maintaining the health of South London's River Wandle and its catchment, is appealing for volunteers.

Its work involves organising community clean-ups of the River Wandle on the second Sunday of every month, rotating between the boroughs of Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth.

It is now looking for volunteers to become members of an Event Support Team to help organise safe and successful clean-up events.

Ideally, there would be a pool of about 15 people, so that a number are available for each monthly cleanup, with some people available on week days for other events.

Full training will be given, as in partnership with Thames 21, they will run a two day 'Leading a Waterway Cleanup' course which is both fun and informative. Look at the Job Opportunities page of their website for more details or email erica.evans@wandletrust.org.
