Wimbledon Bookfest Line-Up Confirmed

Tickets are now on sale

Tickets for this year's Wimbledon Bookfest are now on sale, with a star-studded line-up set to fill venues throughout the town.

This year's line-up includes: Claire Tomalin, Carol Ann Duffy, Sir Max Hastings, Alistair Darling, Susan Hill, Francine Stock, Adele Parks, Kay Burley, Anne Sebba, AN Wilson, Lord Rees Mogg and Brian Moore.

The festival, in its 5th year, takes place from October 1-9. Its aims are:

•To spread a love of reading and writing
•Fire the ambition of local writers –  including the young
•To encourage community activities
•Working with young people

Organisers recently publicised the event at last month's Wimbledon Village fair, including the launch of the new Book Club.

Money raised is used for Bookfest's education programme in schools in Merton, including a free books initiative for Mitcham schools.
