Support and friendship for new mums
NCT Wimbledon & Wandsworth has launched its first breastfeeding café, which aims to give women much-needed support in the challenging early days of motherhood.
The weekly drop-in sessions will be staffed by two experienced NCT breastfeeding counsellors who will provide feeding guidance on a one-to-one basis.
As well as emotional and practical support, the café will be a place to meet other new mums in the area and forge friendships.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery to the tune of £10,000, the NCT is able to offer this professional service for free.
The café will open its doors for the first time at The Gooseberry Bush Café in Kingston Road, Wimbledon, on Thursday September 13 from 10am-12 noon. It will then be held every Thursday.
