Santa Needs Help In Wimbledon

Could you help manage a charity card shop?

It may still be high summer but work is well underway to organise the charity Christmas card shops due to open in October.

cfgc logo small-2This year Cards for Good Causes needs to find an organiser in Wimbledon to co-ordinate and manage the pop-up shop for the eight-week trading period.

The pop-up shop in St Marks Church, Wimbledon, has been running for almost 20 years and without a manager to help will not be able to continue this year.

A great team of volunteers are poised ready to help man the shop on a daily basis and the loyal customers will be expecting to be able to visit St Marks Church and buy their cards.

A manager is needed to oversee the outlet; look after the volunteers; unpack and check stock,  complete daily banking procedures and manage paperwork.

It is not as onerous as it may sound and the manager may only need to be in the shop for a few hours a day. The position is temporary and part-time and can be easily shared between two people.

Cards for Good Causes says it is looking someone recently retired; looking for work or work experience; a parent with children at school. It is a very enjoyable environment to be in and a rewarding role as the charities involved all benefit enormously from the sales of cards. By giving your time you will be helping the charities too. A small remuneration is paid by the Charities involved as a thank you for your help.

The shop runs from October 29 until December 16 and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,   Friday– Saturday 10am-4pm and Thursday 12 noon-4pm. They need to get people in place by mid September to ensure the shop can run smoothly and some training can be given before the shop opens.
