Wimbledon Common Path Appeal Is Nearing Target

Funds needed to repair popular route across Commons

An appeal to raise funds to restore the main route through Wimbledon Common – the Inner Windmill Road – is getting close to its £55,000 target.

It costs £45 per metre to rebuild the heavily used path, according to the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators, which has set up the fund-raising drive.

The Conservators say they have now had enough donations and grants to reach more than £43,000 and is still hoping to reach its target.

More details about how to donate to the Access For All Appeal on their website: Access For All.

It is proposed that the appeal will close at the end of January and plans then put in place to restore this major arterial route through the Common in the Spring of 2018.
