Wimbledon Community Chorus Sing With Premier Band


Central Band of The Royal British Legion to perform in SW19

The Central Band of The Royal British Legion, The Legion’s premier band, are hosting with Wimbledon Community Chorus a joint concert on May 12 at 7pm at Holy Trinity Church, Beaumont Road, SW19 6RL.

Pieces will include Scarborough Fair, arranged for the 2017 Merton Singfest by local musician Michael Higgins, Streets Of London by Ralph McTell and old favourites from The Great War arranged by Adam Saunders. The band will play a medley of James Bond themes, Rule Britannia and London Themed music.

The band will be joined by a special guest, Soprano Delea Shand singing excerpts from Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady.

  • The Central Band Of The Royal British Legion are conducted by Captain David Coles MVO, who is also the musical director of The Annual Festival Of Remembrance at The Royal Albert Hall every November and was awarded a BAFTA in 2017 for his outstanding service to the Festival Of Remembrance.
