Chance to raise your SW19 safety issues

Police and council bosses are putting themselves on the spot in Wimbledon, with a "Face The People" event.

Merton council leader Ged Curran (left) and Merton borough police commander Dick Wolfenden will be available to talk about your community safety concerns.

They will be at Wimbledon Piazza from 4pm-6pm on Tuesday February 8.

The local Safer Neighbourhood team and Police Community Support Officers will also be on hand with the reassurance bus to talk through local questions and issues.

Mr Curran said: "Merton is still one of the safest boroughs in London but we want to maintain this by listening to the concerns of the public. Face the People is opportunity to take questions and feedback from our residents."

Chief Superintendent Dick Wolfenden added: "Listening to the concerns of Merton residents is a priority for the police. We have great local relationships with our residents and businesses. We want to develop these further, working in partnership with our visitors and communities, to make our borough an even safer place."
