Local winners in annual county competition

Wimbledon fencers enjoyed medal success at the Surrey county sabre and foil championships on Sunday (October 26).

The annual competition, run this year by Wimbledon fencing club's Jim Hamilton, took place at Wimbledon College in Edge Hill.

The local winners were:

Women's foil Kate Downer gold.

Men's foil Tim Buzwell silver, Brian Harkins and Hishaam Yunas bronze.

Sabre Jim Hamilton silver.
