Wimbledon Firm Aims To #SaveKidsLives

Local transport company produces road safety guides

Wimbledon-based transport specialists, Healthcare and Transport Services (HATS) Group, are providing school children with handy road safety guides this summer in support of the #SaveKidsLives campaign.

Founded in 1995, the HATS Group, based in Weir Road, have been providing public sector healthcare transport in London for over 20 years.

Encouraging school children to take an interest safe bus travel, HATS have recently started to introduce helpful informational guides on many of their school services.

School goers have been receiving helpful pocket-sized flyers which feature ‘Dos and Don’ts’ for safe school bus travel, as well as information about the #SaveKidsLives global initiative.

"Providing passenger care and assistance has always been one of the most important parts of our job," said HATS CEO Henry Bilinski. "We do everything in our power to ensure that all of our home to school transport services run as safely as possible, and by getting the community involved we can help raise awareness for safe school travel in the UK and abroad."

#SaveKidsLives is a campaign set up to promote road safety across the world. Coordinated by the UN Global Road Safety Collaboration, the worldwide initiative calls for Governments to commit to take action at the Global High Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia from November 17-19.

As part of the growing campaign - communities, schools, children, teachers, parents, businesses and more have been encouraged to sign the #SaveKidsLives online declaration, and spread the word via social media.

Mr Bilinski added: "Over 500 children across the world lose their lives every day due to traffic incidents. And it’s something that needs be addressed.

"We're lucky enough to have a transport system in the UK which is reliable and safe, but in other places in the world, that's not the case. Getting to school, to gain an education shouldn’t be dangerous, and children shouldn’t have to risk their lives in the process."

HATS’ flyer ‘Staying Safe on the School Bus’ is being distributed across many of their school services in London, and can be viewed and download via the Group’s new website - www.HATSGroup.com.
