Man suffers burns in town centre blaze
Three people escaped from a fire on a first floor flat in Wimbledon town centre on Saturday (March 31).
A man, woman and child were in the flat on The Broadway when the blaze started on Saturday afternoon. The fire brigade were called to the five-room flat at 5.45pm.
The man is thought to have suffered burns and the woman and child suffered from smoke inhalation.
Four fire engines and 20 firefighters from Wimbledon, Mitcham and Wandsworth were called to the scene. The incident was over by 6.07pm. The cause is being investigated.
