Wimbledon Guild Gets New Partner

Fundraising activities at Wimbledon Film & TV studios

Wimbledon Film & TV Studios and The Wimbledon Guild have announced a joint initiative of activities and fundraising events designed to enhance the local community support offered by both organisations.

The partnership will see some of the studio's unique facilities, such as its street and pub sets which have been used in productions such as Cheryl Cole's video for 'Under the Sun' and Ant and Dec's promo for "I'm a celebrity", being used by The Wimbledon Guild to host special events throughout 2013 and beyond.

In addition, the studio will run a long term fund-raising project asking all studio visitors to donate their spare cash. Donations will be represented by coloured plastic balls which will be collected in an authentic glass telephone box previously used as a prop in The Bill, which is permanently installed on-site.

Wimbledon Film & TV Studios in Deer Park Road has also committed to working with the Guild to fund and produce a five minute promotional film for the organisation which will be hosted on its website and promote the work they do. As well as this, the studio will host a large scale fundraiser to raise money for the Guild.

Piers Read, MD of Wimbledon Film & TV Studios, said: "We are delighted to be working with such an important organisation as The Wimbledon Guild. We have been welcomed by the local community since we took ownership of the site in 2010 and are passionate about giving something back to its residents."

Chief Executive Wendy Pridmore said: "The Wimbledon Guild is thrilled to partner with Wimbledon Film & TV Studios to help us with our activities in Merton. The studio has some fantastic facilities and expertise under its roof and we can’t wait to see how we can use these to enhance our work in the borough."

Additional joint events and activities will be announced in due course.
