Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk Is Coming Soon

Fundraising stroll across Wimbledon Common returns for second year

Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk

After a successful inaugural event last year, local charity Wimbledon Guild is bringing its fundraising walk across Wimbledon Common back for a second year.

Open to everyone, with and without dogs, the walk will take place on the morning of Saturday 28th September on Wimbledon Common and, if you book in advance, your dog (or dogs) goes free.

Tickets are just £10 per adult, £5 per child (4-16 years), £5 for your dog and £25 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children). Booking fees apply. Monies raised will help fund the vital work that Wimbledon Guild does to support people in Merton who are experiencing difficulties.

We are very grateful to Ashworth Solicitors, Pet Pavilion and H.R. Owen Maserati who are supporting and sponsoring the walk.

All waggy walkers will have the choice of a 4km or 7km walk, both starting and finishing at the newly refurbished, award winning, dog-friendly Hand in Hand pub on Wimbledon Common. The Hand in Hand will be offering all walkers complimentary breakfast refreshments.

Every dog that completes the event will receive a goody bag from luxury pet shop Pet Pavilion and an H. R. Owen Maserati sponsored commemorative rosette. The luxury car brand will also have one of their cars on display, which you can win to drive for a weekend in a raffle taking place at the Waggy Walk. Metro Bank will on hand to offer support and give out free goodie bags.

Cawston Press will again generously be providing complimentary drinks for walkers and homemade post-walk goodies will again be provided by Two Teaspoons Cookery – at no extra cost!

Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk is one of the charity’s main fundraising events of the year and comes at a time when the charity is seeing an increase in the number of people seeking support.

Wendy Pridmore, the chief executive of Wimbledon Guild had this to say about the Waggy Walk entering its second year: “We are delighted that the Wimbledon Guild Waggy Walk is back for a second year. Last year over 150 people took part and it was wonderful to see so many dogs and families having fun whilst raising money on our behalf.

“In the past year we have helped to turn around the lives of over 2,000 people. Each month we provide over 120 activities - from exercise classes to social clubs to tap dancing – we have something for everyone to help people stay active and healthy in a welcoming environment. By taking part in our Waggy Walk, you can help ensure that Wimbledon Guild will be always be here to help people in Merton in times of need. I look forward to seeing you there for what I can guarantee will be a paw-fect day out!”
