Handbags for Hospices auction

Handbags For Hospices are bringing their exciting ladies-only fundraising event to Cannizaro House in Wimbledon on Thursday October 3, and you're invited!

Raising more than £12,000 for local hospices, over the last year alone, the fundraisers are inviting local ladies to come along and enjoy a memorable evening, all for a great cause.

Founded in 2012 by best friends, Abigail Bowen and Lucy Wilkes (right), Handbags for Hospices has attracted an array of media and celebrity attention, with support from Vogue, Grazia and You magazines, as well as donations from Zoe Ball, Davina McCall and Liz Hurley.

All bags in the paper auction have been donated, with many having graced the arm of a stylish celebrity or being a high-end designer bag. A Mulberry Del Ray (donated by an A–list "fashionista") was recently auctioned for half its RRP, giving guests the opportunity to bag an exclusive bargain.

The Wimbledon auction, which will support St Raphael's Hospice in North Cheam, will include donations from Jo Wood, Millie Mackintosh and also a leopard print Pucci from Hilary Alexander. Bidding for most bags will start at £10.

Abigail Bowen, founder of Handbag For Hospices, said: "The atmosphere at our events is electric and everyone is so supportive and encouraging. Our guests love the bags - some women even end up going home with three or four! But most importantly, we love being able to help generate vital funds for hospices, while having a great evening!
 
"I love the fact that every time those bags get used, they are a reminder of a fun night out, as well as supporting a great cause."
