Local 'Handyperson Service' Is Expanded

Do you need help around the home?

An extended ‘Handyperson Service’ is now available in Wimbledon and the local area to help to older or less able people with odd jobs around the house.

The Handyperson Service is a partnership between The Wimbledon Guild and Age UK Merton and the donation of a new van will be a huge boost to the support it offers across the community.

They say if you are disabled or aged over 50 and are struggling with much needed jobs around the house, a friendly face and helping hand is just a phone call away.

Help with household repairs will be done at an affordable fee - from house decorating to changing light bulbs. Organisers say it’s help that can make a huge difference to local people in need of support.

Chief Executive of The Wimbledon Guild, Wendy Pridmore said: "The Wimbledon Guild and Age UK Merton are delighted to collaborate in providing this borough wide Handyperson Service. It is a vital part of supporting ageing in the community and can make a huge difference to people’s lives by offering practical help where it is needed."
