Developers to reveal full details at a public exhibition
Plans are being made to change the face of a significant stretch of Wimbledon Hill Road with a new hotel and shops development.
A public exhibition next week will reveal the details of proposals for the 'Bank Buildings' at 41-47 Wimbledon Hill Road in the town centre.
Developers want to refurbish and extend the buildings to create a "mixed use" scheme consisting of shops on the ground floor and a hotel on the upper storeys.
The ground floor buildings are currently occupied by a number of businesses, with Ernle Estates, Ludlow Thompson estate agents and the empty A E Halfhide jewellers due to leave the premises by the end of the month.
Three other businesses - Amity College, Access College and a hairdresser - are remaining on a temporary basis.
The developers say they are holding the exhibition to receive public feedback before submitting a planning application to Merton Borough Council.
