The Dons retain the title after a tense shootout

Wimbledon Hockey Club are national champions again after they retained the MHL Premier Division Title last weekend.

Although they finished fourth in the league table, they were named champions after beating Holcombe and Reading in the finals weekend play-offs on Saturday (April 16).

It was a nail-biting finish as they won the Reading game in a shootout when the match had finished at 1-1.

They also won the title last year - their first season in the Premier Division. It means the Dons will be playing in next season's Euro Hockey League.
