Classical music across the town
This year's International Wimbledon Music Festival takes place at various venues across the town from November 9-24.
Organisers say the highlights are:
Angela Hewitt playing Bach, The Brodsky Quartet serenading Wolf, Wagner, Verdi and joining Michael Collins in Brahms; the extraordinary Calefax reed quintet; Raphael Wallfisch with musical soulmates playing some of the greatest piano trios; Sir John Tomlinson with David Owen Norris paying tribute to Michelangelo and Britten; Susan Tomes with Erich Höbarth playing Mozart; Organist Jennifer Bate with trumpeter Crispian Steele-Perkins; the incomparable historic instruments quartet Quatuor Mosaiques; Bach choral masterpieces with the Academy Choir & Baroque Players, Julia Doyle, Marcus Farnsworth and others.
The last concert of the Festival will be the 'Brandenburg Experience' - all six of Bach's concertos performed by the 22 soloists of Florilegium. This will be presented in two parts, with the offer of a 'Baroque Dinner' during the break.
