Landmark Wimbledon Park Pub Will Re-Open

Future uncertain after pub closes down

The landmark Woodman pub in Durnsford Road, Wimbledon, which closed last weekend, is set to re-open.

Former owners Greene King have recently sold the pub to Fulham-based development company Goldcrest Land, raising fears for its future.

But Stephen Hammond, Conservative PPC for Wimbledon, says he has been assured the pub will be re-opening.

He says he is understands Goldcrest will be consulting on proposals for the site, including refurbishing and restoring the pub.

He is due to meet with Goldcrest to discuss their plans. He also says a tree preservation order has been put in place to protect all trees on the site.
