Wimbledon Policeman Admits Voyeurism Offences

A Wimbledon-based police officer has admitted charges of voyerism after filming his encounters with sex workers.

Irshad Kamal, who worked as a PC at Wimbledon Police Station, admitted three counts of voyeurism when he appeared at Southwark Crown court on January 29.

The 46-year-old has previously been cleared of sexually assaulting and stalking a prostitute after she put his details on a website which warns other sex workers about suspicious clients.

Kamal, who lives in Bramfield Road, Wandsworth, was suspended from duty at Wimbledon Police Station when he was charged with the first offences.

He was found not guilty of sexual assault on September 29, 2015, but the jury couldn't agree on the stalking charges. He was acquitted of those charges on January 22 when the prosecution failed to offer any evidence.

The court heard that officers found videos of Kamal having sex with the women when they searched his home. He has been bailed until his sentencing on February 29 on condition he stays at home and doesn't contact any sex workers.
