Peace scarf created by local knitters
On Saturday (January 24) members of Wimbledon Disarmament Coalition/CND will be travelling to Westminster with about 200 metres of pink knitted scarf.
They will be joining in CND's Wrap up Trident
demonstration, a 'mass action' linking Government and
parliament buildings in the long peace scarf created by thousands of
knitters last summer to link the two UK nuclear weapons establishments
at Aldermaston and Burghfield.
"The government wants to commit £100 billion to make us nuclear armed
for the next 40 years. We have to stop this madness," said WDC/CND
secretary Joanna Bazley.
Departure time: Wimbledon Station 11am.
