Wimbledon Will Rock For Charity

New Mayor's first fundraiser

Have fun and support the Mayor's charities, Home Start Merton and Polka Theatre, at Merton Rocks, the new Mayor's first fundraiser with Wimbledon Rock Choir.

The event takes place on Saturday June 8 from 7.30pm at the Sacred Heart Church Hall on Edge Hill, Wimbledon, SW19 4LU. Tickets are £12.50 per person, which includes entry and a drink.

Wimbledon Rock Choir will be performing for free, ensuring more money goes to the Mayor's charities. Since starting up in 2009, the choir has been bringing people together through singing, performing and socialising.

The talented singers are led by Jim Hawkins, and are sure to entertain the audience with a full night of pop, rock and Motown songs.

To book tickets for the Merton Rocks performance, call 020 8545 3517 or email mayor@merton.gov.uk.

Mayor of Merton, Councillor Krystal Miller said: "I popped along to rock choir's rehearsal last night and they were in brilliant voice. I won't tell you what my favourite song was as I don't want to spoil it for everyone else but I know it is going to be a great evening.

"The money raised will go to helping my two charities which both support families and children through very difficult times. Come along, have fun and help us to help more families in need."
