Wimbledon's 'Not For Profit' Spa Reaches Awards Final

Spa London at Wimbledon celebrates success

Wimbledon’s ‘not-for-profit’ spa has rounded off a successful first year, as runner up in the annual Professional Beauty Awards.

The town's first ever public sector spa, which launched just over a year ago, was one of just five day spas drawn from across the UK, to reach the national final in the Best Day Spa category.

A joint venture between not-for-profit social enterprise GLL and Merton Council, Spa London at Wimbledon is situated within Wimbledon Leisure Centre in Latimer Road and has been designed to offer an easily accessible, luxury spa experience at the heart of a popular community facility.

The spa offers visitors a combination of traditional treatments and the latest modern therapies from leading brands such as well as its own Spa London products. Also on offer is a fantastic range of thermal facilities including a Hammam suite, steam rooms, sauna, Hydrotherapy pool and relaxation lounge. Another unique factor is the spa’s onsite crèche.

The launch in Wimbledon follows the successful introduction of the UK's first public sector spa concept to Bethnal Green in London’s East End over five years ago.

Spa London Manager Melissa Evans said: "To be shortlisted for such a prestigious industry award after just 12 months in business is a fantastic achievement and reflects that passion and commitment that the team at Spa London Wimbledon puts into their work every day."
