Man quizzed over sex assault allegations

A woman has claimed she was raped in her tent as she queued for tickets to see the Wimbledon final.

The 34-year-old victim called police from her tent in Wimbledon Park in the early hours of Sunday (July 7).

Police later arrested a 30-year-old man and questioned him over an allegation of "serious sexual assault".

A Met spokesman said: "We have arrested a 30-year-old man who has been bailed to September. A 34-year-old woman is the victim. Inquiries are ongoing."
