Head To The Wimbledon Village Fair

Lots of family fun, including new acts

The annual Wimbledon Village Fair takes place on Wimbledon Common this year on Saturday June 18, from 10.30am.

The event will be opening by the promotion-winning footballers from AFC Wimbledon as well as BBC TV's John Inverdale.

This year there are some fantastic new attractions and acts including:

  • Walk on water - zorb balls
  • Bookfest with author signings
  • Babyballet
  • Pied Piper Music
  • Surf simulator.

There's also the Horse Show (from 9am), a Fun Dog Show throughout the day and more than 200 craft and produce stalls. The Food Village will be open all day and there's lots of live entertainment.

  • Bettina Brueggemann, the managing director of Hart Brown, who are sponsoring the water zorbing are hoping to raise £1,500 for the Wildlife Aid Foundation on the day.

Water zorbing could be compared to oversize hamster balls placed on top of a pool of water. If they raise £1,500, Bettina will get into one of the zorbs and attempt to stand up and even move around on the water. To donate, click here.

The Wildlife Aid Foundation aims to educate the public in the importance of conservation and in particular how wildlife surrounding us is so important to conservation. They rehabilitate 20,000 animals and release them back into the wild.
