Santa Comes To Wimbledon Village

Fun at Christmas shopping event

Santa will be arriving on horseback to visit Wimbledon Village during its Christmas Shopping Day on Sunday December 4.

The special event runs from 11am-5pm when many shops in the village will be open and offering nibbles and discounts.

Santa will arrive at noon and can be visited in his grotto outside the Dog and Fox pub from 12.30-3pm. The entertainment will also include an ice queen on stilts, a roller-blading snowman and two wombles!

And there will be a Christmas Trail for children through some of the shops and the prize will be presented by Santa at 3pm. You can collect the Trail from participating shops (from Thursday December 1) or collect a copy from Village News, Senti or Mint Source from Saturday December 3.

Participating in the Trail: Senti, Le Petit Bateau, Cath Kidston, Pet Pavilion, Brora, Bellissima, Blink, Wimbledon Books & Music, Beaumont Interiors, Neal's Yard, Village Florist, Whistles, Smith Brothers Bike Shop, Traders Antiques, Westwood Rocks, Whistles, Two Sisters Home, Mint Source, Jigsaw, Molton Brown, Joules.

This year's event is raising vital funds for the local charity, The Wimbledon Guild, who will be working with local schools and church groups to provide festive music throughout the day.

The Wimbledon Guild's Knitting Bees will have a selection of handcrafted gifts and decorations on offer. They will also have a Wishing Tree made possible by the support of participating shops and restaurants donating vouchers.
