Wimbledon Showcase For Young Entrepreneurs

Visit the Young Enterprise Trade Fair

Young entrepreneurs will be setting up stall on Wimbledon's Piazza to showcase and sell a variety of goods and services.

The first ever Young Enterprise Trade Fair in Wimbledon takes place on Saturday (March 23) and will feature youngsters from several local schools.

It has the support of many local businesses, including Merton Chamber of Commerce and Love Wimbledon.

The Trade Fair will run from 10am-3.30pm and will feature a wide range of products including bath-time bakery, phone cases, fitness gloves and pamper packs.

The stalls will all be run by Year 10 and Year 11 students from schools in Merton, Sutton and adjoining boroughs as part of their Young Enterprise businesses, giving them a chance to experience and learn what it is like to run your own business.

Diana Sterck, Chief Executive of Merton Chamber of Commerce, who is part of the local organising committee, said: "Young people have so much to offer and Young Enterprise really helps them show  their talent and innovation, whilst helping them to learn about business. We support Young Enterprise because setting up in business is a very real option for young people to consider as part of their career options."

Helen Clark Bell, Manager of Love Wimbledon Business Improvement District, which is sponsoring the event with the support of local businesses including Bills, added: "I am really pleased that Love Wimbledon can support local entrepreneurs with the wonderful facility of our stalls on the Piazza. I hope local people will come and visit to find out more and to help these young businesses be successful."
