Young people are being asked to submit their designs to a free competition to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Wimbledon.

Love Wimbledon is creating five installations in Wimbledon Town Centre this May for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Four of the plinths already have designs on a royal theme, including one with Corgis, but the fifth will be made from designs from young local residents.

Love Wimbledon says it is looking for creative minds who are passionate about our planet, to help create an environmentally-inspired design for the 5th plinth.

This year's celebration has a nod to the environment and features the theme ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’.

With the following question in mind, children are being asked to create their own original design by 19 April:

We love trees. They matter. What do you love about trees and what do they do for the planet?

There are two age groups: Under 10 and 10 – 15 years old. The best image from each age group will be reinterpreted by an artist and recreated on the 5th plinth on The Piazza. Winners will also receive a Love Wimbledon Gift Card worth £50.
